Hong Kong, China includes Hong Kong Island, Kowloon Peninsula and Lantau Island.

 

Hong Kong was led by both the Tang, Song, Qing and Han Dynasties. It was part of the Battle of Yamen.

 

Hau Wong is considered a Hong Kong god. Among the area’s first settlers were the Hou, Deng and Peng families.

 

Fernao Pires de Andrade came to Hong Kong during 1517.

 

Hong Kong was part of the First Opium War. In addition, the Hong Kong Volunteer Defense Forces participated in World War II. The Tanamen Square protests occurred during 1989.

 

People associated with Hong Kong are Lam Bum, Murray McLehose, Chris Patten, Ge You, Jiang Wen, Jet Li and Xie Jin.

 

Movies that involve Hong Kong are Double Impact, Lara Croft Tomb Raider, Love is a Many Splendored Thing, Mortal Kombat and Rush Hour.

 

Among the area events are Chinese New Year, Tin Hau Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, Lantern Festival and Festival of Asian Arts.
